General Information
In 1981, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20 was founded
by 50 Vietnam Veterans looking to make a difference in the
Rochester area. The following year, the VVA Chapter 20 Thrift
Store was founded.
The innovations have just continued. In 1985, the vehicle
donation program was formed and their long standing commitment
to Monroe County Special Olympics was also established.
As a past recipient of the Harris Award from the Veterans
Outreach Center for Outstanding Commitment and Dedication. This
chapter continues to not only help but provide funds
to veterans and community service groups alike in our community,
day after day, every year since it's inception. From providing
funds to help keep their national organization going in the
early 1980s to assisting the Veterans Outreach Center and the
Vietnam Veterans Memorial of Greater Rochester at Highland Park
as well as the Pirate Toy Fund, and the Boy Scouts.
Currently the Chapter suports the following
